The Dr Erfan and Bagedo
Nursing Department is composed of a multicultural team comprising of
approximately 600 staff members who functions and operates under the able
direction and leadership of Dr. Hoda EI Khateeb (Hospital Deputy
CEO & Management Representative), Mrs. Thanaa M. EI Tabie (Director
of Nursing), Mrs. Annabella R. Belisario (Deputy Director of
Nursing), Nursing Supervisors, Head Nurses and a team of highly skilled
and qualified professionals assigned to various nursing units in
accordance to the area of their special skills.
The Nursing Department
acknowledges the responsibility of providing evidenced-based,
comprehensive, patient-focused, high quality and cost effective care to
all patients and their families. As a Department, it is committed to
ensure an environment that continually seeks to improve delivery of
patient care, encourage innovation and creativity and flexibility by all
levels of nursing practitioners.
All staff in the Nursing
Service Department are encouraged to participate in learning opportunities
both internal and external based on self assessment, peer assessment,
educational and skill assessment to achieve personal and/or professional
growth. Nursing Department staff is expected to achieve competency in
Basic Life Support; In specialized areas 90% of staff are provided with
and certified in Advanced Life Support Techniques viz. Advanced Cardiac
Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Pediatric Advanced Life
Support in accordance with determined requirements for practice in these
areas. Among other things, there are additional courses provided which
include ECG Interpretation and management of cardiac arrhythmias,
Communication and Interaction Skills, Stress Management etc.
The nursing staff is given
